Clothes Closet Ministry and Church Start updates
Posted: December 12th, 2011 Category: James's BlogMany of you who attended worship at Agape’s facilities yesterday may have thought that more of our Karen friends were here. You were right. In fact, Pastor Ebenezer reported that 125 people attended the morning church service! Also, our clothes closet ministry was a great success yesterday. Nearly all of our Karen families were blessed by the donations. The Missions and Ministry Team reported this morning that there are only 3 or 4 cans of food left! Agape family, thank you for making a difference in the lives of our neighbors. The Karen church start has been a tremendous responsibility and blessing.
Speaking of church starts…have you gotten to know Oscar and Wendy Ortiz? They attended Agape’s morning worship service yesterday, and they are ministering through our Educational Outreach ministry. Please take some time to meet and visit with them. They are already leading out in forming necessary relationships for an impending church start at Agape called “Metropoint Church.” Many of you attended the town hall meeting where we discussed this approach, and our Missions Ministry Team along with the Ministry Council met with Rolando Rodriguez, Director of Hispanic Ministries for the BGCT, who’s team is leading out in this effort. Metropoint looks to begin in March/April 2012 with worship services at the Agape campus and with Bible study groups called Growth Groups, which will meet in area homes. Please pray about this effort.
