Mrs. Mary Ann Anderson taught ESL in Texas public schools, 15 years at the International Baptist Theological Seminary in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and in Spain, Mexico and in Nigeria. She has visited relatives quite extensively in Switzerland and Thailand, and lived in Costa Rica, Canary Islands, Mexico, Argentina and Nigeria. Mary Ann is certified by the State of Texas as ESL teacher. Dr. C. L. Bass has traveled in extensively in Europe and Japan. He lived in Germany for one year on sabbatical from his teaching position. He taught many international students in the field of music for twenty-four years. He has taught conversational English for 12 years. Mr. Carl Bohanan has taught English to internationals for 5 years. His background is in electronics systems, and taught radar systems to foreign students while in the US Air Force. Following his military service he had a long career with the National Weather Service in their engineering division as a program manager. Mrs. Edlyne Dickson taught English in China for a combination of about 2 years. She has traveled in Southeast Asia and several European countries. She also took classes in teaching ESL to satisfy state teaching certification. She is a retired teacher, having taught high school speech, theatre, and English for 26 years. Mrs. Frances Gray taught school for many years and, in retirement, has a special interest in Internationals. She has privately tutored persons in their study of English and helped them to pass examinations for citizenship, managerial, and government positions. She has traveled in Europe. Mrs. June Gray has been involved in the teaching of English to internationals for more than 15 years. Like her husband, she has lived in Germany, England, and Switzerland and understands, from a woman’s perspective, some of the problems of living in a different culture. She was a professional secretary. Dr. Scotty Gray has taught English to internationals for more than 15 years. He has lived in Germany, England, and Switzerland and understands some of the problems of living in a different culture. He was a professional educator and administrator, teaching graduate-level music courses. Mrs. Betty Hall is a retired public school teacher and has taught internationals in ESC for nine years in Ft. Worth. She holds a BS in Education from Missouri University and MRE from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. She has a special joy in working with internationals and in learning about their culture and traditions. Mrs. Deanna Knotts has taught math and science for 28 years. She is currently working with students who need help on the math portions of the TAKS test. She enjoys assisting ESL students of school age. Mrs. Laura Law has lived abroad in Brazil, Portugal, Spain, and Mexico. She speaks Spanish, Portuguese, and English. She has taught ESL to children and adults for 30 years. She works to help students adjust to the culture and customs as well as the language of their new country. Mrs. Shelley Marsh has taught English to internationals for seven years. She enjoys interacting with internationals and wants to help them understand and communicate in English. She was a teacher and educational diagnostician in the Fort Worth and Mansfield school districts. She has lived in Switzerland and traveled in Europe and Asia. Mrs. Eddie Belle Newport has lead tours to many nations across the world. Her graduate degree is in history and she served for a number of years as a docent for sited of historical interest. She was for many years a respected teacher of Bible to adults. She remains active in social organizations in the city of Fort Worth. Miss Neta Steward’s interest in the English language caused her to select it as one of her majors in college. She has also done formal training in ESL and has taught remedial English. She managed a travel company and has visited many countries of the world. For many years she was Dean of Women and Director of Student Services at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Mrs. Jean Tidwell has been a pre school leadership conference leader in New Mexico, Texas, North Carolina, Germany, and in the United Arab Emirates. She has been a volunteer mentor at Westcreek Elementary for five years. She has taught young adults and median adults in church, taught English to internationals, and taught in public schools in Texas and Mississippi. Dr. Carl Wrotenbery is a retired college and seminary librarian, having served more that 30 years at colleges and seminary. He taught religion and philosophy courses, and theological research, writing, and teaching, for 20 years. He is the author of three books. Mrs. Julia Wrotenbery, a retired English teacher, taught English grammar in public high schools and colleges for 30 years. She earned masters degrees in English at The University of Texas in Austin, and in Religious Education at Southwestern Seminary. She has taught English as a second language for 10 years. She is currently writing ESL Bible study curriculum materials for the Baptist General Convention of Texas.
