Agape Message

August 24, 2016

”Whom is wise and understanding among you? Let him show it by his good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom.” (James 3:13) “For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice.” (17-18) “But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere. Peacemakers who sow in peace raise a harvest of righteousness.” Finally in James 5:16 we find ”Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.”

The emphasis on the Mary Hill Davis Prayer and Offering for state missions begins now and will continue through the month of September.  Texas is a vast mission field, and the fields are white for harvest.  The theme is Boundless. “May the Lord make your love for each other and for everyone else grow by leaps and bounds.” (1 Thessalonians 3:12a).  You may pick up a prayer guide from the table at the back of the worship center that can be used for any seven days.  One day focuses on the work of Lester Meriwether and Literacy ConneXus (whose office is in Henderson Hall).  Remember I am Texas Missions

Since our Friday update, Austin has improved! He has not vomited since then, is eating more normally, and has been able to go to school for the full day.  Your prayers at work!  He’s still pretty tired out after school, and still must avoid strenuous activity of any kind—but he enjoys having a “VIP Pass” to use the middle school elevator.  The principal and teachers have been great about adjusting his schoolwork load—hard to have missed the first 3 weeks of middle school!
Our hope is that he would continue to improve, and be strong enough for the surgery, perhaps mid-late September (which will mean 7-10 days in the hospital). Thank you so much for your continued prayers for this great little guy! Another answer to prayer above! Keep up praying with expectation!

Our search team needs our prayers: Tracy Ligon, Gerald, Marsh, Olivia Lewis, Alice Curtis, Abraham Sukumar, the alternates are Abiola Olagbami, Lynette Mayo and Beverly Germany.(Keep PRAYING)
