Agape Message 5-25-16

”So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”(Isaiah 41:10) “For I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.” (Isaiah 41:13)

Each year at the end of school we provide lunch for the teachers at Luella Merrett Elementary School, our Adopt-a-School partner. This year it falls on Friday, June 3. You may sign up in your Bible study class or at the back of the worship center to provide food or help serve. Sign-up sheets will be available on May 22 and 29. Food should be brought to Faith Hall no later than 10:00 on June 3. This is an opportunity for us to show appreciation to those who impact the lives of the children in our neighborhood.

There is still need for you to volunteer to help with this worthy project. Please find a sheet and give your name and the food or help you will provide. This is one of the ways we partner with our school and neighborhood.

Thanks to all who helped with the students and graduates last weekend. It is helpful for us to know more about the families and students who are involved in our youth activities. We were blessed by the recognition of graduates and their families in last weeks’ service. It would be a good thing for us to continue to pray for these students and their families as they continue their education or face the world. Some did make commitments to undergird them with prayers.

There will be no activities this Sunday Evening May 29, because of the Memorial Day weekend.

Please be in prayer for the selection of our Pastor Search Committee.

Last Sunday evening at the Business Meeting you were given the names of those who have agreed to serve on the search committee. Many of you received an email this week from the church office giving you these names again. Sunday morning at the close of the morning service we will have a Special Called Business Meeting for the purpose of voting on this Pastor Search Committee.

Please pray daily for our church, our Search committee, Luke Moody, our summer intern and many avenues or ministry we need to find and use for reaching people in our neighborhoods for Christ. Let’s pray for God to help us each to find where God wants us to work and the things He has for us to do.

Extended Care: May 29: Mayeli Jones and Charlene Bass.

See You Sunday,

Betty Hall
