Agape Message 9-28-16
”The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” (Galatians 5:22 NIV)
The New Testament describes the characteristics of Christ that are to be revealed in our lives as spiritual “fruit.” (listed above) These ought to be bountifully present in our homes. What kind of “fruit” are your children eating within your home? Does their “diet” consist of nagging, complaining, anger, bickering, gossip, impatience, meanness, selfishness, and rudeness? Or are they learning to be loving when someone is not lovable, to have joy when life is not fun, to have peace in the midst of pressure, to be kind when treated roughly, to be unselfish when they don’t get their way, to forgive when they are wronged? How easy do you make it for your children to “eat healthy”? Our homes should be places of rich, bountiful, moral and spiritual teaching for our children. But that is only possible if we ourselves are moral and spiritual people, fulfilling God’s purposes for our lives. Blessings, Anne Graham Lotz
The above is copied from her daily messages or devotional, however I felt it was good to share it with you. These characteristics need to be visible in all Christians’ lives and homes. What do our friends and neighbors notice about us?
Everyone has been most generous in supporting the Mary Hill Davis Offering for state missions. Our offering goal was $5,000, but you have given $7,858. This amount will provide 785 children’s Bibles or 393 baby kits, or cement to rebuild 79 homes in the River Ministry region. You have really shown that I am TEXAS Missions. Thank you.
This Sunday evening will be October 2 and at 5:30 we will have the “Jesus Film”. Let each of us be present and encourage friends who ever we can to join in this special event. It is for our neighborhood but it is for us too. Be in prayer for this film to speak to many!
Also pray for our Search Team: Tracy Ligon, Gerald Marsh, Alice Curtis, Olivia Lewis, Abraham Sukumar, and alternates Abiola Olagbami, Lynette Mayo, and Beverly Germany.
Extended Session Care: Edlyne Dickson and Bobbie Payton
See You Sunday,
