Friday Message

Agape Friday Message 5-9-14

“Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time, cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. (2 Peter 5:6-7)

Thanks to Erica for a great presentation last Sunday evening.  There were a good number of supporters present for the special time together. Erica made a great presentation of the study she made relating to Agape Baptist Church.

Because of Mother’s Day on this Sunday May 11, there will be no evening service.  This however will be a great time for families to get together for special family times.

We welcome our newest staff member Mrs. Mayeli Jones, as our Director of Children’s Ministries.  We will need also to pray for this ministry to our children as they are growing and learning about their need for Jesus and His great love. Our support of this ministry will encourage and help our children as they learn of Jesus and the wonderful promised we find in his word.  It is very helpful for children to learn Bible verses during these years as they grow and develop.  It will be a guide as they grow.

Please keep in mind our newest ministry, Divorce Recovery Group which will begin this Tuesday at 6:30 PM.  It will be led by Dr. Larry Williams.  Share this information with friends or people you know who would be in need of this help.

May 18 will be an important day as we look forward.  Our youth desire that you participate by bidding in the Dessert Auction. You may have items to contribute to this auction as well.   The Auction will be May 18 at 5:00PM-7:00PM.  Helping our students and youth go to Summer Camp is a special need.  All-Church Fellowship will follow directly after until 7:00PM.   You will find this to be a helpful and meaningful time of the church Family gathered as we seek God’s help in resolving our past and embracing our future.  God has a special plan for Agape Baptist Church and its ministry to our community and world.

Deacon Meeting will be Sunday May 25 at 4:30pm, room HH117.

Some who are looking ahead may need the following:

School is out June 6 and the promotion ceremony for Luella Merrett will be held in Agape’s Worship Center that morning.  Following the promotion ceremony there will be a reception in Faith Hall for those being promoted and their guests, friends and relatives.   June 9th in Faith Hall there will be an end of the year luncheon for the Teacher Appreciation of Luella Merrett Faculty.    Please bring salads to Faith Hall by 10:00 AM to help provide the food needed for this luncheon.

Extended Session Care: May 11: Dean Ball, Charles Jones, Shellie Fairless May 18: Jo Crawford, Charlene Bass, Pam Cable.

Please pray for the many needs of Agape B.C. as well as needs in our world, community and city.  Please pray for those who are bereaved and many who need to know Jesus.  Please pray for those who live in our city and world who do not recognize their need for a savior.  You should find an Agape prayer list on Sunday in the information center if you don’t receive it by email.  Help us lift up the needs of our community, our world and our church. May God guide and bless you as you live for Him.

See You Sunday,

Betty Hall
