Agape Message 10-7-15

”Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, for man’s anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires.” (James 19, 20)

Thanks to Pastor Dean and Tommy Bridges and all who attended and participated in the Adult Bible Study Teachers very helpful meeting. It is good to cooperate and work together for the improvement of our Sunday Morning Bible Study periods. People’s lives are helped and improved by studying God’s word together.

We’re expressing appreciation to all who contributed to the Mary Hill Davis Offering for State Missions.  Our total was well over $8,000.  This is a significant amount to help spread the Gospel in Texas.

Attention ladies: Some of you have already cut out the fabric for Christmas stockings for the Presbyterian Night shelter.  This was one of our mission projects in September.  Now we need to decorate and finish them.  Join with other ladies on Thursday, October 15, from 9:30-12:00 in Faith Hall.  Bring with you needle, thread, and scissors.  We also need two sewing machines and an iron.  If you can bring a sewing machine, please let Edlyne Dickson know (817-293-5891 or edlyne at (use the @) att.net). If you don’t know how to decorate the stockings, don’t worry.  Frances Henderson will guide us.

During the month of October Pastor Dean Dickens will be teaching through the book, Discovering My Ministry. Please bring your copy from last week if you participated. For those who have not received a copy, there will be copies for you in the information center. This is an important step in our Interim Period. If you were unable to join us last week, please join us as we continue this helpful study. An out of town visitor last week said, the study was very helpful, because he was seeking to find directions in his life.

Sunday October 11.

Transition Team will meet at 4:00 pm.

Coordinating Council at 4:30.

Town Hall Meeting 6:00 pm in Faith Hall.

Our Youth and Aaron McNabb are seeking consistent Wednesday might volunteers and servants. If you are interested in serving our neighborhood youth on Wednesday nights from 6:30-8:00 pm please contact Aaron McNabb (amcnabb at (use the @ sign) agapebaptist.org)

Agape Message will be available in the back of the worship center for you to take home or to hand to someone who would enjoy having a copy.
