Agape Message

 Wednesday, February 22, 2017

“For it is by grace you have been saved through Faith-and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-not of works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s workmanship created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” (Ephesians 2:8-10)

Next Sunday will end our emphasis on the CBF Global Missions Offering.  Of course, you can give anytime during the year.  We have received only $15,556 toward our goal of $20,000.  Let’s make a push toward this goal on Sunday.  All of this offering goes to directly support the missionaries in the U.S. and around the world. Envelopes are in the pew racks or at the back of the worship center.

Our student enrichment activities for the children at Luella Merrett Elementary School have been going for two weeks.  We have 23 students signed up, but not all of them have attended yet. Sunday school classes are providing snacks when they come over to Faith Hall after school.  Then their leaders take them across to Henderson Hall for their activities.  There are groups for choir, Spanish, Chinese, and art.  Please mark your calendar for Thursday night, May 4, for a “Show and Tell Night,” when the children will share what they have done.  Parents will be invited, and we need many Agape members to be there to meet them and get to know people in the neighborhood.

We still need fabric to make bags for the Christmas in July project led by the Tarrant Baptist WMU.  Bags will be sewn on Saturday, March 11, at North Fort Worth Baptist Church from 9:00-2:00.  Anyone can help.  Just take your sewing machine (if you have a portable one), or go to help cut fabric and put in drawstrings.  Take a sack lunch.  We can also begin collecting toiletries to fill the bags in July.  Small or medium sizes are needed of: combs, tooth paste, tooth brushes, shampoo, deodorant, bar soap, wash cloths, and lotion.  The bags will go to area homeless shelters.

We were blessed by the message on Sunday or Angelo Velis of Conscience International. We hope that you will be praying for our pastor as he has been away and will be returning to us this next Sunday.

Christian Women’s Job Corps will soon be starting their spring sessions beginning March 22 and run through April 28. Please keep this ministry covered in your prayers. If you can help contact Wanda Helms. Please share this information with anyone you know who could be help by this ministry.

Deacons will meet this Sunday afternoon at 4:00 pm in the back of the Worship Center. Please come to help with the needs of our church.

Please be in prayer for the many needs of our world, our neighborhoods, our city, our government and lost souls near and far. Let us remember to pray for those in our church family who need our love and fellowship, the sick and, bereaved, those who are physically unable to attend.

See You Sunday,

Betty Hall
